Patrice Winery's 2002 Cabernet Franc Rosé

The source of fruit for Patrice Winery's 2002 vintage of Cabernet Franc Rosé' is from New York's North Fork of Long Island appellation. This is one of the prime sources of grapes for the East Coast. Known for it's Terroir that resembles that of the Bordeaux Region of France, Long Island is becoming one of the premier wine growing regions in North America.

Patrice Winery's 2002 Cabernet Franc Rosé Label
The 2002 vintage offers a light fragrant Cabernet Franc Rosé with a tender sweetness. Cabernet Sauvignon's notoriety often obscures the fact that one of it's parents is the Cabernet Franc grape. It's other parent is the white grape Sauvignon Blanc. Wine experts have referred to Cabernet Sauvignon as regal and then refer to Cabernet Franc as debonair with softer tannins and more inviting mouth-feel. In the United states, many winemakers seeking to replicate a classic Bordeaux formula add significant percentages of Cabernet Franc into their red wines. Cabernet Franc has now come into it's own as a single-varietal wine. This wine goes well with both fish, chicken and red meat. Try it also with spicy foods and barbecue.
