In the 1880's Robert Berry began a legacy that would be carried on a century later. He began growing the best of grapes and provided a source of fruit that was used by his entire community. This tradition was passed on to his grandson, Henry Berry and now this has led his Great-Grand Son, Ron Berry to extend this legacy one step further. Ron Berry continues to use the best grapes and extends that to making the best of wines and provide this wine to his entire community, the world. Mr. Berry founded Patrice Winery, LLC whose sole purpose is to make the finest wines possible.
The source of fruit for Patrice Winery's 2002 vintages is New York's North Fork of Long Island appellation. This is one of the premier sources of grapes for North America. The Long Island appellation is known for it's Terroir that resembles that of the Bordeaux Region of France. Its unique combination of maritime climate, soil characteristics and growing conditions provides the essential ingredients for premium wine production.
